The Evil of Science

A friend of mine went to a meeting at another part of the lab and saw someone wearing this shirt.

The link to order one of your own is http://smbc.myshopify.com/collections/frontpage/products/science-shirt.

Very funny.

  1. I would also think it was funny except that it lumps God in with geocentrism and unicorns. I've enjoyed reading your blog as someone who is also a Christian and scientist, but this post has me puzzled. This is my first comment here, but I have to ask: were you being sarcastic or something more subtle than that? Certainly you don't think that science has "ruined" God, given the thrust of your blog?

  2. You know, I thought about that when I posted it and how I interpreted it when I read it was “proof of God's existence” which is the ID position. It was not until after I posted it that it struck me that one could interpret it in different ways. Did not mean to offend.

  3. Thanks for the clarification, and I appreciate your response. I completely agree that science cannot prove God's existence, and I can see why you would interpret it that way. In my case, my first thought was that the T-shirt was trying to make the point that science had "ruined" God, not just that it couldn't "prove him".
