Steve Martin's Blog: Promoting a Positive Relationship between an Evangelical Faith and Biological Evolution in the Local Church

Over At An Evangelical Dialogue on Evolution, Steve has a new guest post called Promoting a Positive Relationship between an Evangelical Faith and Biological Evolution in the Local Church by Dennis Venema. His opening paragraph recounts a strategy that, I believe, most of us ECs put into practice:
The creation / evolution topic can be very divisive within a church community. Because of this, the approach I’ve generally taken at my church is to discuss the issue only when asked, and only with those who ask. Raising this topic can be unhelpful at times, and cause problems for those not adequately prepared to deal with the implications.
Just yesterday I had a discussion with a friend of mine who asked. He was actually quite receptive and provided some interesting pointers as to how I might address these topics with my kids when they get to the age where they can evaluate these ideas and concepts. Read his whole post. It is very good.
