Michael Dowd, author of Thank God for Evolution, has cancer. It is apparently of the the very serious kind as he has been given a 50% chance of living 2-3 years. I had never heard of Michael so needed to check out his site and thinking. I am sobered whenever I encounter anyone facing the potential immanent end of their life with dignity and strength. I need not agree with all his theological positions, but the trajectory of his life does seem to be of one well lived.

Embarrassingly, I am still working through it and four or five other books. I think my priorities are screwed up. I am not getting enough read.
